Back with a back injury

Finally, the term, and hopefully my exhaustion as well, is coming to an end. Recently, I just got the habit of reading wikipedia, especially about information relating to Science itself. Let me share my 'findings'.

Basically, I was diagnosed with a back problem a few weeks back, after suffering from pain for a few months and finally allowing myself to go for physiotherapy treatment for some masochistic reason unknown to myself. Then, the doctor said that I had a hamstring and a back injury. This includes the injury of L45 and SIJ, terms that were alien to me as well, before I started my research.

This is the a picture of my back, or you can say, all vertebrate. There are 5 lumbar vertebrae and injury most commonly occur at the 4th and 5th lumbar vertebrae, and in case you cannot figure out, is L4 and L5 in short term. And this is my injury, seemingly caused by a wrong back posture and the jumping and landing forces acting on my back as required by my CCA, track and field.

Also, the SIJ refers to the sacroiliac joint. The function of this joint is to allow torsional and twisting movement of the when we move our legs, so without it, there will be a higher change of a pelvis fracture. As such, care should be given accordingly. SIJ injury occurs when the joint becomes too mobile or locked, which leads to ligament problems to itself and the structures around it. Thus, the effect of this injury can even lead to buttock pain and groin pain.
Another cause of SIJ problems is degenerative arthritis, where after this cartilage is damaged or worn out, the bones began to rub against each other, leading to pain in the lower back and other areas as well.

I do hope you enjoy my 'findings'!
